The dissertation reveals the problems of receiving English, French and German borrowings into the Ukrainian language in several aspects: socio-linguistic, lexico-semantic, structurally-semantic and antropocentric. It gets the dynamic of borrowing and the system of functions for foreign vocabulary. The thesis defines the main lexical and semantical processes related to using borrowed words and their belonging to different paradigms - polysemy, synonymy, antonymy.
