The work is a theoretical and experimental study of the problem of language training of a future teacher of a non-philological speciality. The dissertation presents scientifically grounded concepts for developing the content and organisation of the process of forming the students' professional language skills; specifies the essential characteristics of the leading definitions: "language skills", "language training", "pedagogic language", "language activity", "language culture"; presents its own didactic model of the process of forming a future teacher's language skills, which regulates the language training process and modifies it with regard to the aim and content of the students' training and their basic education.
