Essay

The Dissertation is devoted to the perfection of diagnostics and theatment of intracranial hypertension in patients with meningitis. Monro-Kelly's doctrine has been used as a pathogenesis of liquorohypertensive syndrome. The basic cause of intracranial pressure elevation in meningitis patients is an increase of CSF volume, which induces a cascade of reactions directed to the inhibition of production and amplification of the spinal fluid absorption. As a consequence of activity of the cerebral volume - regulating mechanisms in a part of patients there are developed the clinically meaningful disturbances of water - ekectrolyte equilibrium, in particular - syndrome of inappropriate antidiuresis. Brain bloodfilling is an important factor, that provides the development of compensatory reactions on intracranial hypertension. The latter can be the cause of ischemia, redoubling the brain edema and is conducive to unfavorable outcomes of a disease. Results of treatment can be improved with the employment of theelaborated algorithm for treatment of the liquorohypertensive syndrome with taking into account of ICP level, recognition of SIAD and evaluating of the consciousness suppression degree. Effectiveness of the reconvalescents' rehabilitation after having been ill with meningitis can be improved with exposure of organism to local negative pressure.
