Object - process of modernization of a political and administrative system of Ukraine in transition period from totalitarianism to the democratic social structure; the purpose - definition of essence factors and forms of the interaction between political leadership and public administration in a modern Ukrainian society; to development of theoretical-methodological bases and practical directions of optimise of their interaction; method - historical, logic, system-analytical, functional-structural, structural-logic modelling, target sociological interrogations; novelty - the analysis of the interaction between political leadership and public administration is profound, the criterion to politic the state post is offered; impossibility unequivocal structural-institutional and subjective delimitation between political leadership and public administration in a transitive Ukrainian society is proved; results - are advanced models of politico-administrative interaction as bases for designing the structurallyfunctional organization of the government bodies, an instructive-normative regulation and technological maintenance of professional work of politicians and civil servants, models of increase efficiency functioning of politico-administrative system of modern Ukraine have got further development.
