Shcherban V. Economic, Social and Environmental Fundamentals of the Food Security Formation and Development in Ukraine

Object: activities of economic agents in the agri-food sector, oriented at the food security system formation. Goal: justification and development of theoretical, methodological and methodical fundamentals in dealing with the problem of the food security on ecologically safe basis. Methods: comparative and structural analysis, statistical groups, indices, abstract and logical, systemic and structural, econometric, factor analysis. Results: development of: social, economic and environmental preconditions of the food security provision; the methodology of its analysis (by means of structuring of social, economic and environmental indicators) along with the principles of its formation; the theoretical fundamentals (the system of factors, essential constituents along with the economic and judicial responsibility) of the food security. Newness: the new concept of the food security has been developed; the theoretical and methodological approaches to determination of the food security provision have been justified. The set of main threat factors to the environmentally oriented food security, the main factors of the food security along with their implementation mechanisms have been determined. The essence of ecologization of the agricultural production sector, the social, environmental and institutional fundamentals of the environmental and economic sustainability of the agricultural production have been analyzed, the structural and functional model of the organizational and economic mechanism of the food security provision is considered, the organizational, economic, social and environmental principles of the ecologically clean agricultural products market have been developed, the system of directions of attaining the food security in the region has been proposed.
