This dissertation contains a comprehensive academic study of theoretic and applied aspects of economic crime prevention in Ukraine. The author analyses historic genesis of economic crime and its social and cultural contents. Based on the definition of the essential features of this phenomenon he formulates concepts of economic crime, criminological characteristics and prevention and establishes features and criteria of delimitation from other related concepts. The author pro-vides classification for the system of economic crime prevention measures and of-fers characteristics for the individual types. The author looks at the general char-acteristics of the status of economic crime in Ukraine, its individual types, its scope, structure and dynamics of development, profile of economic offenders and methodological aspects of impacting latency. The author also shows factors de-termining economic crime and analyses the system and levels of the determining impacts. He established conceptual grounds, purposes and goals, major principles of the economic crime prevention in the period of transition. He studies theoretic and applied aspects of criminological theory of economic crime prevention and ensuring economic security of the country. He shows drawbacks of the existing system of economic crime prevention and makes recommendations as to its im-provement
