Essay

The principal objective of this dissertation is to develop an approach, which enables one to avoid interference in the forming of conjugated curvilinear surfaces of surfaces of products. The analysis of known approaches allowed, first of all, determining the necessary and sufficient conditions of avoiding interference. A hypothesis about the possibility of avoiding the interference of conjugate profiles has been proposed and studied. Two methods to determine the parameters of helically shaped chip have been suggested. Both of them (graphical and graphical-analytical) are based on the properties of the corresponding screw diagram. A method to determine chip breakability was proposed and its correlations with the longitudinal feed and the cutting speed were established. The method is to be used for the purposeful selection of the machining regimes. The conducted experimental studies proved the validity of the proposed theoretical principles and notions.
