3 The dissertation is dedicated to the development and application of pathogenetically grounded methods of surgical and combined treatment of pyonecrotic lesion of diabetic foot, the use of which is aimed at the preservation of foot. Characteristic features of the process of pyonecrotic lesion of diabetic foot have been studied, as well as reaction of the foot tissue, in 708 patients, which led to the development of a new approach to selection of surgical tactics and operative intervention. The expedience of pre-planned multistage treatment of such patients has been proved.An algorithm has been established which includes the scope of preoperational examination, selection of surgical tactics and type of surgical intervention.
