Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the investigation into spread and seasonal dynamics of fasciolisis in cattle permanently kept in the 2nd and 3rd zones of radionuclide contamination. The periods when animals may become infested with fasciolae on pastures have been established. The cows and young cattle permanently kept in areas with higher levels of ionizing radiation show certain changes in the immunologic Alterations of cellular and humoral immunity in case of helminthic parasitism have also been studied. Efficient antifasciolosis preparations have been identifiedand - for the first time-such immunomodulators as tymalin (thymaline), T - aktivin (activine) and combiferion have been administered. In order to increase treatment efficiency, to normalize immunologic haematological indices, to restore the immune status in the system organs and to improve producing capacity of animals under the conditions of both ionizing radiation and conditionally clean zones complex schemes of administering antihelminthics and immunomodulators have been developed and used in practice.
