Essay

System theoretical and experimental analysis of interrelation between bioselective elements and miniature electrochemical transducers in biosensorics has been performed, general strategy of development of electrochemical enzyme biosensors proposed. The functioning of various bioselective elements has been analized regarding their application with different types of electrochemical transducers. The optimal kind of transducers for each of examined bioselective elements has been chosen. Series of laboratory prototypes of enzyme electrochemical biosensors for determination of different metabolites and toxins have been developed. Some of the developed biosensors have been analized with respect to real application. The concept of a multibiosensor for detection of different toxic compounds based on the enzyme inhibitory analysis has been proposed.
