The given dissertation provides a research in theoretical and methodological foundations of modern principles of professional teacher training in contemporary pedagogical activity in accordance with up-to-date requirements to a teacher who lives in a postindustrial, dynamic, highly informational society. Modernization of professional and methodological teacher training is treated here as a complex system of continuing education, as a process of deliberate, constant, purposeful improvement of different methods and techniques of professional pedagogical activity. The theoretical foundations of modernization of a contemporary Ukrainian teacher’s professional as well as world outlook and methodological training on the basis of the complex use of the systematic, structural and functional, synergetic and activity-based methods are elaborated in the research. It is stated that reformation of professional and methodological teacher training in contemporary education is not a simple, linear, chronological process. It is complex as it takes into account not only scientific, educational, humanistic and anthropocentric aims, but real internal and global social, economical, political and cultural processes as well.
