Essay

The research object is designing and reengineering processes of complex (multi-level and distributed) information management systems (IMS). The aim of the research is development of concept, models and methods for adaptive designing and perspective reengineering of complex IMS in order to increase efficiency of their building, and practical usage these approaches on enterprises of fuel and energy complex of Ukraine. The methods of research are principles of intelligent system building, object-oriented methods of analyze and syntheses of IMS structure, mathematical approach of common sets theory, fuzzy-based approaches for decision making support, methods of mathematical statistics for experimental data analyzing and simulation methods. Theoretical and practical results – methodological principles, models and methods, and adaptive technology of macro-designing and reengineering of complex IMS as well. Scientific novelty – in contrast to existing approaches, because of the elaborated methodological compromise between verbal and formal modeling methods for software development, the concept proposed integrates all essential information and algorithms for IMS designing into multi-dimensional information space, where trajectories of IMS architecture models are built, efficient techniques for system requirements gathering and analyzing are implemented, and the possibility of adequate estimation of design solutions in the IMS development process as well. The subject and degree of implementation – the unified Internet-based IMS were developed, which are actually used on gas- and oil production enterprises belonging to the regional department "Kharkiv-gas-production". Application area – designing and reengineering of multi-level distributed IMS on an industrial branch scale.
