Essay

In the dissertation, at attempt is made to explain the phenomenon of ritual laughter; to interpret its meanings in the archaic culture; to reveal its symbols and metaphors. The author explores references to ritual laughter made by more recent writers, musicians and artists. An original concept of ritual laughter is introduced. This concept is based on an interpretational approach to this phenomenon. Analytical methods used allow to fully appreciate the dynamic nature of ritual laughter and its indivisibility.
