Essay

This thesis is one of the first attempts to provide complex research into the es-sence, situation and tendencies in the development of electoral technologies under the conditions of contemporary Ukrainian society. It contains a comparative analysis of the election campaigns for the Verhovna Rada (the Parliament of Ukraine) since the years 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006. Employing a wide base of resource material; the work analyses the notional apparatus of this process, and also the methods of exploring the electoral system. The paper describes the present approaches to determining electoral technologies and the author's vision of their described content. Based on political analysis a description is given of various types of electoral technologies upon the formation and shaping of the institutions of civil society at the current stage, also the forms of negative displays within the framework of organization elections in Ukraine, and manipulating public thinking during the elections process. On the basis of theabovementioned Parliamentary elections, the author has characterized the causal fac-tors for the efficiency of electoral technologies.
