Melnyk Y. Apocryphics of Ivan Franko: Issues of their reception and interpretation.

The dissertation does a complex analysis of the apocryphics of Ivan Franko. It researches Franko's concept of apocrypha as a mimesis of the Holy Scripture, іt finds resonance in current research paradigms. Reading Franko's texts offers a picture of the process of the entrance of apocryphal literature into the Ukrainian spiritual realm and its becoming a national model of apocryphical literature. The art of learned writing dominates Ukrainian literature in different periods. The autor analyses textology of the collection "Apocryphal and legends from Ukrainian Manuscripts" are researched. The autor also analyses in particular comparative literary studies of I. Franko. It examines the apocryphical code of Franko's works, both in poetry and prose. The corpus of apocryphal texts "Finding Holy Things" from the writer's archives is published for the first time.
