Chyhin V. Physical mechanisms of negative corona pulsation

Object - negative corona. Purpose - to ascertain mechanisms of complicated pulsation. Methods: measur-ing of currents, solution of flow equations. Novelty: it is ascertained that precursor and frontal step is displacement current on cathode, pulse peak is sum of ion and displace-ment currents, high-frequency pulsations is variable ion current in self-screening condition. Practical results: sharp dependence of pulse charge on EN admixture concentration; replacement of EN by EP gas in generating region leads to current increase; passing gases through it increases degree of components separation. Scope: gas separation and detection. Object and degree of application: ion sources are applied in Kurchatov IAE, plant for Ar and N2 post-treatment - in MC "Polyaron"; admixture and gas pressure sensors - in MC “Iskra”.
