Kochetova S. Аesthetics and poetics of modernism in Russian writer's critical essays at the end of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth centuries.

The thesis defines features peculiar to writer's critical essays as the phenomenon of Russian literature at the turn of the XXth century, traces the formation and the evolution of historical-cultural and literary preconditions for the rise of writer's critical essays of the given period and attempts to justify the philosophicity of modernists' critical essays in the context of V.S. Solovyov's idea of vseedinstvo (all-unity). It outlines the scope of the leading issues and problems raised in critical essays of the founders of literary modernism, as well as analyzes existing forms of the realization of critical essays in connection with poetic and prosaic works of modernists with reference to the system of genres of literature criticism. The author investigates the phenomenon of intertextuality as a specific feature of text organization in writer's critical essays, along with the peculiarities of rhythmical-intonational and compositional organization of literary-critical works.
