Antonyuk V. Lectins resources, purification, properties and their uses in phytochemical and medico-biological studies

Object - lectins from vegetable, mushroom and animal sources; the purpose - analysis of source of raw materials, search, development of methods of purification, research new lectins various of carbohydrate specificity and investigation abilities of their use in медико-biological and phytochemical researches; methods - immunochemical, of preparative protein chemistry, analytical; synthetic, histo- and cytochemical; the novelty - for the first time in Ukraine and in world practice is systematized with pharmacognosy of the point of view of the item of information about raw sources for lectins purification, them of carbohydrate specificity and biological properties, a several new affinity sorbents for clearing lectins is developed, is revealed, is cleared and investigated the basic physico-chemical properties 17 lectins; the results - for a several new lectins are offered new methods of clearing or complex processing. Is investigated toxicity received lectins to cancer cells of different lines, and alsostudied action of a several new lectins on growth and development of the lowest animals, and also opportunity of their use in histo- and cytochemical researches, research apoptosis, analysis and division carbohydrate-containing of substances, forensic-medical examination. The received results have helped to organize manufacturing lectins and their derivative during 1990 - 2007 and to give an opportunity of their use in many laboratories of Ukraine and behind its abroad.
