Essay

In this paper, the complex and integrated inspection allows to determine the age-dependent changes of brain organization and functioning and the distinctive features of intersystemic links between cerebral haemodynamics, metabolism and bioenergetics of brain while ageing. It is found that ageing of brain includes not only involutional processes but also the formation of new system of intersystemic relations, which increases risk of evolving of age-related pathology. The complex, multivectorial positive effect of monotherapy with nicergoline and pramiracetam taken as prophylactics on state of blood circulation, bioelectric activity of the brain, cognitive functions of elderly patients was demonstrated.
