Essay

Thesis is devoted to the problems of preparation of specialists who provide correction work in the system of education of children with intellectual defects. In thesis theoretical and methodical principles of education in higher educational institution are scientifically proved; theoretical basis of teachers' professional preparation to correctional work in institutions for children with intellectual defects are generalized; social characteristic of speciality "Correctional education" is given; created by author model of personality and activity of modern pedagogue as reference point of his professional preparation is shown; subject and methodology of realization of teachers' work in special school is elaborated; periods of foundation and development of correctional teachers professional preparation in Ukraine are traced; modern state of specialists preparation and students' professional readiness to correction work in educational for children with intellectual defects is investigated; system of contents of versatile professional preparation of correction pedagogues and forms of realization are proposed.
