Object: architectural environment of the metropolis city; subject: methodological fundamentals of ecological rehabilitation and development of urban environment ecosystem types of different hierarchic level; objective: development of methodological fundamentals of ecological rehabilitation of city architectural environment and development of optimization designs of urban-planning space in new geopolitical and socioeconomic conditions of Ukraine; methods are based on experience generalization of theoretical and practical works in the field of architecture and urban-planning; analysis of design experience; processing of statistical and cartographic materials; sociological researches; expert questionnaires; natural observation; experimental design; results: in this dissertation methodological fundamentals of architectural environment ecological rehabilitation have been developed scientific novelty: for the first time the history and evolution analysis as a tool for development of principles of architectural space rehabilitation in the city structure has been used; the criteria of efficiency, purpose and priority trans-formation directions have been defined; the conception of urban and ecological approach to the city architectural environment rehabilitation has been developed; the principles and methods of step-by-step rehabilitation of urban environment architectural space have been substantiated; implementation: the real architec-tural city planning practice; science branch: theory of architecture.
