Essay

The dissertation deals with solving the scientific problem, i.e. enhancing the efficacy of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of perinatal complications in patients with pyelonephritis by means of development of a scientifically grounded system of treatment and prevention measures, and assessment of their effectiveness. As a result of a retrospective epidemiologic study it has been proved that a relative risk (RR) of premature delivery makes up 2.26, a RR of the birth of small-weight newborns is 2.48, a RR of the birth of a new born with a low weight and height coefficient is 1.94. The influence of ozonotherapy on the clinical course of pyelonephritis, the condition of newborns, the immumoreactivity of the pregnant females and their newborns, their tensioreometric parameters, the morphohistologic characteristics of the placenta have been studied. A complex programme of care and management of pregnant women with pyelonephritis has been developed and put into practice on the basis of the study conducted. Introduction of the complex programme of care and management of pregnant females with pyelonephritis allows to diminish the risk of the main perinatal complications.A RR of premature delivery in this case makes up 0.46, a RR of giving birth to a small-weight new-born is 0.42, a RR of giving birth to a new-born with a low weight-height factor is 0.53.
