Essay

The dissertation has accomplished a complex investigation of the capital accumulation relations under conditions of market transformation in post socialist countries. Its main tendencies and problems have been pointed out. The research of this kind has provided the possibility to single out the ways of activation and alteration of the capital accumulation vectors as well as to work out proposals for its stimulation. The formation and development of scientific views about capital accumulation have been analyzed. The author presents her own interpretation of the category of "capital accumulation" which is considered to be a process of maintenance of quantitative and qualitative changes in the capital structure, i.e. expanding of capital assets, activation of the shifts in the reproduction of human, intellectual, social and cultural capital, that permits overcoming the restrictions existing in theoretical methods to finding the up-to-date tendencies of capital accumulation. It has been proved that privatization and the primary capital accumulation encouraged the activity of private investors who do not tend to extend resource basis of business due to the lack of interest and the existence of obstacles in economic processes. The mechanism of capital accumulation in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe as well as the contradictions and problems in the CIS countries has been revealed. The economic behavior of the main capital accumulation subjects has been characterized.
