Essay

The thesis presents the scientific principles of safe and effective flat seams min-ing in natural abnormal zones. The connection between the natural form of rock mass bedding and the level of geomechanical manifestations while performing mining works has been established in the thesis. This work also features the dominating in-fluence of tectonic stresses upon zonality of gas-dynamic phenomena as well as working out the system of predicting geomechanical conditions of plicated faulted seam mining .The thesis offers new ways of prognosticating the tectonic stress level in the rock mass, new means of maintaining the stability of preparatory in-seam workings and of locating the sites prone to outbursts within the area of mine fields.
