Research object - atopic dermatitis (AD) in children. Research purpose - to increase of efficiency of medical care for children with AD on the basis of determination of epidemiology, pathogenesis and clinical features of illness, improvements of diagnostics criteria and treatment of different forms AD. Methods of the investigation - clinical, immunological, biochemical, morphological, instrumental, statistical. Theoretical and practical results - AD prevalence is established among children population of Kharkiv region according epidemiological program ISAAC (13250 children were questioned). It’s 50,5 - 1,90 ‰. A regional mapping was made taking into account an ecological situation. Risk factors and clinical peculiarities of AD in children were studied. Features of “atopic marsh” were analyzed. The differences of AD as a separately nosological form and as syndrome of dermato-respiratory disease, immunoinsufficiency condition or metabolic disorders were established. A systemic immunity, cytokines metabolism (interleukin-4, tumor necrosis factor-?, interferon-?), vascular cellular adhesion molecular-1 expression were investigated depending on severity, period of the disease and children age. The new methodic of morphological investigation were created – “skin window”, sparing puncture biopsy. The immunomorphological diagnostic criteria were established for AD. The mathematic model of AD prognosis was made. Prevalence food, household, pollen allergen were identified for big industrial center of Western Ukraine. The characteristic of skin microflora was done. An effectiveness of 1% pimecrolimus cream was proved and indication for using in national treatment protocol is offered. Novelty - the state of children health is conducted by the epidemiology method ISAAC in Kharkiv region and reliable AD prevalence is set. The method of a «skin window» is developed, the immunomorphological criteria of dermogramms are certain for AD. The method of sparing puncture biopsy of skin is developed. The methods of immunomorphological research of skin samplings are approved. The immunomorphological criteria of biopsy materials are set for an exsudate, erytemo-squamosa and lichen forms of AD for children. The method of discriminant functions is applied for determination of value each of clinical and paraclinical signs for formation AD severity. The mathematical model of AD severity is created. Relevant triggers of AD are identified for the children of big industrial center of East Ukraine. The regional register of sensitiveness of skin microorganisms to antibiotics is created. Degree of introduction - results of researche works were introduced into the children hospitals in Kiev, Winnitca, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporozhia, Krivoy Rog, Lugansk, Lviv, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Kharkiv, Kherson rergions and Simferopol, as it is confirmed by corresponding acts of introduction.
