Essay

The object – electoral process in political and cultural perspectives. The aim – to explore the political and cultural peculiarities of electoral process of the post-socialist community by means of the comparative analysis of electoral campaigns in Ukraine, Russia and Poland. Methods – dialectical, logical-historical, systematic, structural and functional, comparative etc. Theoretical and practical results –theoretical and practical aspects of political-cultural factor influence on the electoral process are explored, the historical-processual concept of electoral culture is suggested. Novelty – the definition of a “voting” party system is introduced, the typology of the electoral culture according to the absenteeism level criteria is generalized, and the conceptual demarcation between the “electoral process” and “electoral campaign” categories is established, the classification of different PR technologies according to their content is improved, the guidelines to electoral process democratization in Ukraine are suggested.Practical application – the paper may beapplied in the elaboration of strategies on political regime democratization in Ukraine, the use of the paper while preparing political science teaching programs concerning the improvement of media regulation in Ukraine, the use while preparing political science teaching programs.Sphere of use – activity of power structures, political and public organizations.
