Essay

Object of the study: endocrinopathies accompanied by polycystic ovaries (PCO). Aim of the study: to determine clinical and pathogenesis peculiarities and differential diagnosis criteria of certain endocrinopathies that are accompanied by PCO, including the phenotypic signs of their congenital and hereditary forms, in order to increase the effectiveness of treatment and preventive action. Methods and equipment: clinical, genetic, anthropometric, biochemical, radiographic, radioimmunoassay, ultrasonic, computer-aided tomography, statistical. Theoretical and practical results: among patients with PCO we singled out 8 symptom complexes, determined their clinical and hormonal peculiarities, formed the algorithm of their differential diagnostics, developed the pathogenetically- grounded approaches to conservative therapy of patients with secondary PCO. Novelty: endocrinopathies, going with PCO, for the first time have been looked at as genetically determined and involved in forming specific clinical complexes of symptoms. New data has been received about the mechanisms of development of endocrine metabolism disorders in patients with PCO. For the first time we showed the diagnostic meaning of the signs of diseases, accompanied with PCO. New principles of treatment of patients with secondary PCO have been developed. Degree of implementation: the findings were patented, and we developed sectoral methodic recommendations devoted to the diagnostics and treatment of endocrinopathies, complicated by PCO. Area of using: endocrinology, gynecology, genetics.
