Torchynskiy M. Structure, typology and functioning of onymic lexemes in the Ukrainian language

The dissertation investigates the structure of onym space of the Ukrainian language by the method of systematization of proper names according to the nature of named objects and the peculiarities of creation and functioning of propria. The essence of native and foreign researches views on nature and differential peculiarities of onyms is analysed. New definition for propriative is proposed. The history of development of methodology of proper names is described. The universal scheme to define their common and specific traits is elaborated. The denotative and nominative structure of onomasticone was rearranged; it helped to concretize the object of onomastical studies. Propriatives were systematized according to denotative and qualitative peculiarities. Ethimological and word building classification of onyms was regulated. Principals of characteristic of stylistic peculiarities of proper names were investigated. The proposals to regulate basic orthography and spelling norms and declination of propriative units.
