Liseyenko E. The political society modernization: the Ukrainian vector of development.

Object: political modernization as a process of sociopolitical and sociocultural transformations; Goal: creation of methodological bases for sociological analysis of a vector of political modernization of Ukrainian society; Research methods: institutsional-cultural, comparative analysis, constructive-typological, historical analysis, survey research; Theoretical and practical results: sociological concept of political modernization in Ukrainian society is introduced, the concept "political mentality" is defined and its use in political sociology is proved, the notion of the essence of Ukrainian political mentality and its role in the course of political modernization is expanded, criteria of success process of political society modernization are defined; Novelty: conceptualization of the political modernization in Ukrainian society, the notion of "political mentality", determining of interaction between Ukrainian political mentality and political society modernization causing character and efficiency of sociopolitical transformations; Degree of application: results and conclusions of this research be used in training courses on "Sociology", "Sociology of culture", special course "Postcommunist modernization process in Ukrainian society" in South-Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinskyy.
