Pashkovska N. Diabetic encephalopathies: the mechanism of development, differential diagnostics, treatment and prophylaxis

The thesis deals with complex investigation of the peculiarities of neurological status, cognitive state, structural brain abnormalities, cerebral hemodynamics, morpho-functional state of the endothelium, cytokine regulation, induction of the apoptosis, disorders of pro- and antioxydative systems, lipid metabolism and hemocoagulation homeostasis in case of diabetic encephalopathy. The differential approach to the diagnostics of diabetic encephalopathies has been elaborated considering the peculiarities of the development mechanisms and course of cerebral disturbances depending on the type of diabetes mellitus. The pathogenic substantiation of citicoline administration in complex treatment of diabetic encephalopathies has been implemented.
