Essay

This Thesis deals with composite functional, semantic and pragmastylistic analysis of syntactical units in the language of the Ukrainian press of the beginning of XXI c. The structure, semantics, stylistics and pragmatism of syntactical units which are used in the language of Ukrainian newspapers of the first decade of the XXI c. are analyzed for the first time in the Ukrainian linguistics. New functional changes in their use, which are caused by changes in Mass Media under the influence of social dynamics, intentions of the authors of publications and genre differentiation of newspaper material are studied.There were differentiated commonly used syntactical constructions, fastened to certain genres, explained specific features of such differentiation. New tendencies in functional and stylistic use of simple double-composed and one-composed sentences, simple extended sentences and sentences of various types of modality and expressiveness in comparison with their use in previous periods were defined, their pragmatic loading in newspaper texts of various genres is observed. New phenomena in the use of complex conjunctional structures, which are connected with activization and extension of number of conjoining means, inversion of predicative parts and their structurally-semantical renewal are distinguished. Functional parameters of partselated units and joining structures in the modern Ukrainian newspaper text are described. Their new representation is determined, principal means of connection of partselated units and a joining sentence with a previous one, means of morphological expression of their components, stylistic functions and pragmocommunicative potential of partselated units and joining constructions are defined.
