Essay

The thesis examines theoretical and legal characteristics of the economic function of the modern state. The genesis of the conception of state functions as the foundation of modern understanding the economic function of the state is presented. The main methodological issues in the studying functions of modern state are considered. The author analyses the process of formation the scientific knowledge about state functions in the pre-Soviet judicial science and in the Soviet theory of state and law. Modern conceptions of understanding the notion and the essence of state functions are also examined. The dialectics of the interaction between state, society and economics as the objective base for the formation of economic function of the state is revealed. Economic interests of the modern state and legal problems of their realization in the context of the economic structure of the society are analyzed. The author defines the main factors of the formation and legal problems in the implementation of economic policy as the main direction of the economic activity of the modern state. The notion of the economic function of the state is given. Its structure, essence and content are revealed. The author shows the place and the role of the economic function in the modern state system of functions. The main patterns and principles of state regulation of economic relations at the modern stage are analyzed.
