Reznik V. Legitimation of the Private Property as a Concept of Sociological Theory

The thesis is dedicated to the problem of conceptualization of legitimation of private property in the framework of modern theoretical sociology. The phenomenon of legitimation of private property is considered in theoretical and methodological, historical and sociological, and empirical and applied aspects. The cognitive function and structure of the private property legitimation concept within sociological theory has been first substantiated. The constructed concept includes definitions of the nature, properties, components, place and role of the given phenomenon in social reality. The current situation with legitimacy of private property in Ukraine has been analyzed using the obtained conceptual generalizations, as well as the data of national statistics and monitoring and omnibus investigations both initiated by the Institute of Sociology, NAS of Ukraine.
