Object of research: state regulation of the labor market in an open economy. Objective: To ground theoretical and methodological foundations of improvement of the mechanisms of state regulation of the labor market at national and regional levels in Ukraine's integration into the global economy, the development of practical recommendations as for the harmonization of the interaction of mechanisms of state regulation and self-regulating mechanisms of the labor market and on that basis, a provision of competitive workforce. Methods: dialectic, induction, analysis and synthesis, economic and statistical, graphic, situational analysis, logistics-oriented, and others. Results: The theoretical and methodological provisions of the thesis are brought to the level of scientific and applied recommendations as for improvement of the mechanisms of state regulation of the labor market and employment in the regions, taking into account peculiarities of the socio-economic development and opportunities for Ukraine's integration into the global economy. The methodogical approach to the use of integrated indicators of impact on the labor market proposed in the thesis enabled to differentiate suggestions on how to solve them on definite territories. Novelty: it is implemented a comprehensive approach to solving the current problems of the labor market, providing coordination of the interaction mechanisms of state regulation and mechanisms of its self-regulation in the light of atypical features of a market economy formulation and requirements that define conditions for Ukraine's integration into the global economy. We propose a differentiation mechanism of state regulation of the labor market on the basis of disclosure of the nature and allocation in their structure of two components of state regulation. It is worked out a theoretical model of the interaction of mechanisms of state regulation and market mechanisms of self-regulation of the labor market, which allows to differentiate practical actions of public administration bodies to ensure the most possible balance between demand, supply and price of labor force. Application areas: public administration, regional administration, training and retraining of civil servants and local government officials, research in the field of governance mechanisms.
