From the perspective of functional linguistics intertext is seen as a communicative unit, which establishes the connection with previous or existing parallel texts, social and personal context of the author's life, between the addresser and the addressee. According to the cognitive approach to human beings as a system for collecting and transforming information, it was proved that, getting new information, the person relates it to that which already exists in his mind, while creating new meanings. Chapters are devoted to consideration of folklore and biblical intertext, reveal their expressive possibilities in the author's literary texts. Through the mechanism of predication and the nomination of linguistic units of lexical-level the simulation of the world outlook and the explication of the conceptual picture of the world are done. The most noticeable interaction of literary texts with the texts of the Holy Letters in titles and epigraphs of artistic works, which are usually straight or transformed of biblical quotations and folk origin. Intertextuality of literary text is manifested not only in the title or epigraph, but also at the level of a text, when it comes to the transformation of certain subjects or motifs in art works.
