Essay

The thesis deals with the research of the hero's portrayal as the prosaic belles-lettres text category in the modern context of scientific views. On the base of comprehension of the person portrayal tendencies in the Ukrainian literature the structural types of portrait and its structural and semantic components are depicted, the interpretation of category and adjacent concepts are represented. New approaches to portrayal studying are proposed, when analysis of language embodiment of artistic image permits to comprehend author intentions, ideological, philosophical and aesthetical principles of the artistic trend.
