Methodological basis of creation and functioning of school social science textbooks on the background of the development of national school social science education of the Soviet period are studied in the dissertation. In terms of concrete-historical approach and in the context of transformation of educational systems, the educational systems of Soviet school social science subjects are definited. The method of evaluation of the textbook as means of learning from the position of the criteria of concrete-historical educational systems of school subjects is elaborated and evaluation of main Soviet social science textbooks and modern school law textbooks for secondary school using at-developed methodology is embodied.
