Plavan V. The fundamentals of organic-mineral tanning processes for producing leather and fur with improved properties.

By theoretically generalizing the patterns of physical and chemical processes of organic tanning and taking into account the quantum-chemical peculiarities of the structure of differ-ent-class organic tannins, the main regularities of forming the micro- and macrostructure of the derma collagen in combined organic-mineral tanning and the ways of improving the properties of leather and fur, including those of medical usage, were determined.The main principles of efficient combined organic-mineral tanning which provide for high performance and durability of new- assortment leather and fur were experimentally verified and practically implemented. The fundamentals developed for combined tanning processes allowed the development of the five more eco-friendly organic-mineral tanning technologies for produc-tion of the new-assortment leather and fur with improved properties.
