There was studied a protective role of the liver in the development of diabetes and dysbiosis; the therapeutic and preventive effect of hepatoprotectors in diabetes is presented. The application of regulators of microbiocenosis - prebiotics for the prevention and treatment of diabetic retinopathy is substantiated by the experiment and in clinic. The prebiotics peculiarities of polyphenol compounds (quercethyn, izoflavones, chlorogenous acid, the complex of polyphenol substances from Sophora and bilberries) were determined for the first time. There was shown the ability of these preparations to prevent the development of diabetic retinopathy. There were devised practical recommendations on the application of bioflavonoids and prebiotics in the complex treatment of patients with diabetic retinopathy.
