Zhuravel I. The pharmacognostic study of plants from Zingiberaceae, Asclepiadaceae, Asteraceae, Lythraceae, Urticaceae families and development of phytoremedies on their basis

The thesis is devoted to the phytochemical study of biologically active substances of Curcuma longa rhizomes, Elettaria cardamomum fruits, Zingiber officinalis rhizomes, the powder of Hoodia gordonii stem flesh, Lawsonia inermis leaves, Urtica dioica herb, roots and seeds, Urtica urens herb, Grindelia squarrosa herb. 137 substances in individual state were isolated from the studied objects. On the base of conducted studies a dietary supplement “Zinarthrin” and technical condition for it were developed, an original species for weight correction was created and standardized and its acute toxicity, influence on body weight dynamics, cavital and membraneous digestion were established; an “Uroprostaphyt” species was worked out and its expressed diuretic action was detected; a “Hepaphyt-1” species was worked out and its antioxidant and hepatoprotective action were detected; an antiallergic species was worked out. The parameters of standardization of tablets with the powder of Hoodia gordonii stem flesh “Hoodia®” were worked out and their toxicological and pharmacological studies were conducted.
