Essay

The dissertation is devoted to an actual problem of ecology majoring students' subject competences development in chemistry. Scientifically substantiated and elaborated were conception and model of students' subject competences development, control and evaluation. The list of subject competences in chemistry was formulated and their content was described, criteria and level measurement tools of their development were defined, the "competence tree" in the higher ecological education was presented. Intersubject connections were found out, methodology and the complete set of learning materials for teaching "Chemistry with basic biogeochemistry" were elaborated. The pedagogical effectiveness of the methodology elaborated was checked up. The revision necessity of the traditional content of chemical substances' description (composition - building - features - usage) was proved through adding a new link - environment influence.
