Essay

The principles of differentiated antioxidant therapy are presented in the dissertation on the basis of analysis of antioxidant system features and autonomic regulation in different phases of clinical development of significant multiple sclerosis (MS). Predictive model of efficiency of MS treatment is elaborated. Heterogeneity of the parameters of oxidant-antioxidant balance and the state of autonomic regulation in patients with MS in different phases of the disease is discovered. The highest content of antioxidants in the growth phase (P1) and regression (P3), neurological symptoms and the decrease in stabilization phase at a height of clinical deterioration (P2) or improvement (P4) of the state are established. In the phase of augmenting of the clinical symptoms the highest vagal activity and the lowest activity of sympathetic segmental level of autonomic regulation, relative activity of subcortical sympathetic centers, the degree of synchronization and tension of regulatory mechanisms are shown. In the phase of regression of neurological deficit the reverse direction of vectors of these indicators is revealed.
