Koch N. Faunonyms in the conceptual picture of the world of the East Slavs of the XI-XVII c.c.

The dissertation studies the concept sphere of the Eastern Slavs, presented in the written records of the XI-XVII cc. by faunonyms and conceptually related lexemes. Reality modeling requires structural binary concepts and categories as mental-sensual unities of fundamental semantic oppositions. The Eastern Slav written records of the XI-XVII cc. state numerous examples of archaic lexemes denoting animals and other objects of the reality in the function of concept-forming units of surface concept structure. The study of concepts and their presentation in diachrony contributes to a deeper knowledge of the processes of conceptualization and development of ethnic and national mentality conceptualization.
