Lobashov O. Theoretical foundations of the traffic formation in big cities

The thesis covers solution of the urgent scientific problem of improving the traffic formation in big cities. To achieve this purpose the paper covers a scientific approach to the traffic management in big cities which is based on the modern methods of mathematical modeling and allows this management by modifying the parking network, transport network density, parameters of some streets or a set of them, parameters of the automobilization level, residential and industrial areas of the city. An adequate mathematical model of the city transport network modeling was worked out and realized. It allows estimating the traffic distribution between the network sections, factors of the transport network functioning when changing its parameters. We have studied the principles of the traffic formation with the help of this model according to the transport network parameters. Based on the given traffic modeling, the type and parameters of dependence of the traffic characteristics on the level of automobilization and specific density of the city transport network were defined.
