Essay

A comprehensive method for the reconstruction of radioactive contamination fields due to communal radiation accident at nuclear power plants is developed. A set of radionuclides atmospheric transport models for different spatial scales and types of sources is developed. Reconstruction of cesium and iodine air and ground contamination fields formation in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia in the initial period of the Chornobyl accident is made. Computer systems for prediction of radiation situation in the Ukrainian NPP responsibility zones and in the Chornobyl exclusion zone are created and implemented.
