Essay

The object is concept of identity in historical and philosophical measuring. The aim is to study the genesis and metaphysical metamorphoses of concept of identity on a background cultural and historical transformations of antiquity epoch. The methods are a hermeneutics, comparatively-historical, structural-typological analysis. The deep connection between identity, sameness and self is ascertained on the basis of etymology-hermeneutic methods. Appearing in Pythagorean-orphic tradition and receiving conception in the poem Parmenides, the notion of "identity" becomes one of the leading categories of ancient metaphysics and theology of the Fathers of the Christian Church. The paper considers two leading paradigm of identity: attributive and relational, the first of which is connected with the name of Plato, the second - with Aristotle and their further metamorphosis in Stoicism, Gnosticism, Neo-Platonism. The general features of the antique identification matrix, the basis of which is Соsmоcentrism are defined in the thesis. The comparative analysis of the matrix with the Оlаmist Jewish one and noted that they are prerequisites Christоcentrism identity. The latter is defined as theophaneias, which bases on the deification through overcoming own self. The work deals with the fate of the concept of "identity" in Patristics, where it serves as a means of justification Trinitarian and Christology dogmas. In particular the work of Basil the Great and other Cappadocian Fathers, Augustine Aurelius, Marius Victorinus, Dionysius the Areopagite, Maximus the Confessor are examined, John of Damascus. On the basis of consideration for the origins it is maintained that the notion of "identitas" arises precisely during theological disputes around this dogma. Application sphere is the training courses.
