The dissertation is dedicated to the topical issue of preventive medicine - hygienic significance of lead as a factor of low-intensity in the environment and the substantiation of the new approaches to the pathogenesis, diagnostics and prevention of saturnism. In the study was researched: an influence of the working conditions on a formation of the occupational risk for the workers' health, were exposed to lead and precocious demonstrations of the "occult" health disturbance; role of the disturbances of the ion-transporting function of cell membranes in the pathogenesis of saturnism; pattern of relationship intracellular toxicokinetics of the lead impact on the organism; features of hepatotoxicity, cardiovasotoxicity, neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity of low doses impact of lead; age-related features of the toxic effects development by the lead impact and the mechanisms of the therapeutic and preventive effect of the pectin with saturnism. Basing on the study results formed the system of hygienic, preventive and therapeutic measures aimed at reducing the occupational risk, prevention of occupational diseases and maintaining the health of workers exposed to lead.
