Essay

Research of theoretical foundation for developing mathematical culture of primary school teachers in general schools is fulfilled in the thesis. Basing on historical educational practice and philosophical, culturological, pedagogical and other sources, an integrated essence of the notion "mathematical culture of a teacher" is cleared up. It is stated, that its semantic use depends on the level of social development and is formed of combination of some constituents each of which shows a definite system of values characterizing both personality of a teacher and a society in its entirety. It is also found out that semantic meaning of mathematical culture is mainly stipulated by a specific character of mathematics and mathematical activity under definite time and space conditions and peculiarities of mastering mathematics and its social - valuable factors. Hence, the work determines the notion "mathematical culture of a teacher" and researches content and logical structures and functions of mathematical culture of primary school teachers. It shows theoretical and methodological foundations for developing mathematical culture of future primary school teachers.
