The dissertation is devoted to theoretical justification and improvement of a state policy of strategic planning of development of regions in the conditions of integration of Ukraine into the world community. The place of cross-border cooperation in social and economic development of regions of Ukraine is defined and ways of its activization are revealed. The directions of improvement of system of information support of process of regional strategic planning and management are characterized. Possibilities of application of methodology of Forsyte are defined at formation of strategy of development of the region.
