Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studying pathogenetic mechanisms of chronic periodontitis radiation-induced pathomorphism in descendants of ?-irradiated rats. There were characterized the pathomorphism of experimental chronic periodontitis in animals with radiation-induced instability of the genome. There were established new mechanisms of structural and functional violations of properties of cell populations in periodontal tissues in descendants of ?-irradiated rats with unstable genome. There were established new mechanisms of chronic periodontitis pathomorphism associated with imbalance of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines. There were established the dependence between the acetylation type and the clinical course of chronic periodontitis. In rats with high activity of N-acetyltransferase the parodentium tissues are damaged at chronic periodontitis to greater extent than in rats with low activity of the enzyme. The results obtained in the experiment allowed to develop new methods of prediction, prevention and treatment of chronic periodontitis.
